The City of Wolverhampton Council wanted to draw on behavioural science methodology and insights across their response to the pandemic. They found there is a need to balance the practical of what is feasible whilst drawing on behavioural science principles and insights which can increase the impact of their work. A range of resources and guidance from the British Psychological Society were used that were developed specifically for local authority and were underpinned by behavioural science to aid COVID-19 response and recovery. These materials were adapted to the local context for community champions materials, first jab appointment materials and surveys to provide a benchmark to understand which messages are landing and with which groups. Adjusting materials and using guidance developed for local authority proved to be both efficient and effective for Wolverhampton. |
